MP3 is an audio format only, and the name “MP3″ has incorrectly come to mean a digital music player. It was invented in late 1980s. MP4 is a “container” which means it can be a video file, or an audio file. The songs sold on Apple’s iTunes Music Store are in AAC format.
MP3 – The name MP3 is short for MPEG Audio Layer 3, an international standard for digital audio format. The actual MP3 technology was developed by the Fraunhofer Institute in Germany.
MP4 -MPEG-4 Part 14 or *.mp4, is a file format (a so called container) specified as a part of the ISO/IEC MPEG-4 international standard. It is used to store media types defined by the ISO/IEC Moving Picture Experts Group, and can be used to store other media types as well. It is, or will be, typically used to store data in files, though it will be used in data streams and possibly in other ways.
I found this website below that has really low prices for MP3 and MP4 made to look like IPODS and are really cheap. What do you think, too good to be true or will it work fine? Also I’m not sure what the difference is between mp3/mp4. http://www.davismicro.com/
mp4 = video
mp3 = audio
